About Dimitra
With an appreciation for the art of storytelling and love for teaching, Dimitra looks to combine her passions and inspire people through easy to digest and engaging scientific articles. Currently pursuing her PhD in Astrophysics at the University of Geneva with a focus on supermassive black holes at the center of galaxies, she understands the challenges that come with demystifying the complexities of the field. For that reason, she wants to make science more accessible and spark curiosity about the mysteries of the Universe amongst the next generation of potential scientists.

Is evolution predictable?
There are many shapes, forms, and patterns which could conceivably exist in biology. What are the factors that affect which ones will be selected, and determine evolutionary outcomes? We study this question by examining the bias towards certain shapes of RNA molecules that exist in nature.
